What better way to learn about Edinburgh than to taste it?
In a tour lasting a couple of hours, we will guide you through the vendors of Stockbridge and the produce they boast. The time will be relaxed and friendly as we amble from shop to shop, with plenty of stops for questions. We’ll round it off with a meal at a restaurant or cooked personally by us over fire. No stomach will be left empty; it is our honour to show you the hospitality and the flavours of the east coast.
Stockbridge is a charming village north of Edinburgh city centre, lined with cobble stones and curiosities. Just follow the Water of Leith through Dean Village to escape the bustle of Princes Street. There, you will find it bursting with independent businesses hidden in nooks and down alleyways.

This Edinburgh food tour will take you to IJ Mellis, our favourite cheese shop, a local greengrocer, a traditional pub, Armstrong’s the fishmonger, and Bowers the butchers.
Along the way, you will have the chance to nibble on cheeses which we use for our own events. IJ Mellis are a family-owned business started by a chemist thirty years ago. They specialise in sourcing and storing cheese until they reach the perfect stage of maturation.
Of course, you have to sample the various beers and spirits Scotland has to offer, tapping into our vibrant history of breweries and distilleries. We’ll happily point you to some of our favourite tipples.
We’re passionate about sustainable and seasonal produce, and know our stuff when it comes to fish, vegetables, and meat. We hope this enthusiasm is infectious and that you will come to see food as we do. See you there!
